Trys came over last night and we bought plane tickets to Amsterdam. Turns out that June is the near-peak touristy season and that it's going to cost just about $930 per person to fly there and back. *ouch* But we have tickets now. Then we looked at hotels. Sticker shock, o' course, so she got assigned the job of looking at hotels and reporting back. I do not want to spend a damn fortune on this freaking trip but I have a feeling that's what is going to happen. *sigh* It's only money.

Deutschland is the host, but Amsterdam will likely be heavily visited during the same period. Watch out for soccer hooligans, including some of my friends who plan on going and drinking beer. One of them will be looking for women who can carry water from the well (so you know who he is, not mentioned for any other particular reason.)

You might take the opportunity to visit Fucking, Oesterriech as a side trip. It'd be a hike, but I think it'd be worth it.

I'll look up where we stayed, which was very nice. And right around the corner from a kick ass Indonesian restaurant. And not too expensive.

We were there for some big soccer thingie, and the Irish were everywhere.

I'm so excited on your behalf. To a cyclist, Amsterdam is pretty much mecca. I think you guys are bound to have Really Big Fun on your trip, sticker shock notwithstanding.
