I am a slow and pathetic knitter. However, there has been progress on the HoHI and we are now seven rows, just
seven rows, from the exciting heel division. Once the stitches are divided in half, then I'll knit the heel flap (which I will hopefully be doing in corrugated ribbing, barring disasters). That should go pretty speedily once I figure out how to do it.
Once the heel flaps are knitted, then I'll be turning the heel (not sure how that's going to work with two colors but there are internetwebmotron directions for REGULAR turning-the-heel and I feel sure I'll be able to muddle through). After that, I will pick up stitches to make the heel gusset and knit decreasing until I'm back to where I was when I stopped at the ankle. Only the top of the sock, I've decided, will have the colorwork pattern on it. The sole is going to be just plain stripes or maybe a checkerboard or possibly diamonds. Something, anyway, that I don't have to look at a fucking chart to knit.
