Meme things irritate me. Go be irritated?

You scored 100% Beginner, 86% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 72% Expert! You have an extremly good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels's questions correct. This is an exceptional score.

Yes. I am exceptional. I think we're all on the same page there. However, can someone please tell me WTF a levels's is?

A-levels are the final battery of standardized testing that British schoolchildren go through. You can leave school after you've done your GCSEs (about age 16) but anyone who wants to go to university sticks out another year and does their A-levels in whatever subjects are their strong suits, and especially whatever subjects have a GCSE-pass requirement for entrance into whatever university study program they're applying into.

It's kind of like the bastard child of the ACT and the GRE, and they're kind of a make-or-break deal, if you are particularly stuck on applying to one specific school or another.

I'm not 100% certain how it all works, not having gone to secondary school in the UK, but I lived there for a year and went to university there, and therefore heard a lot about the A-levels from my classmates, as well as reading about educational standards, school rankings, and testing in the newspapers.

Hi, I'm a dumbass. You were pointing out gratuitious apostrophe misuse. Zoiks!

Well, yeah. But you went to university in the UK? That's very cool. That's cool enough to make up for missing the misuse of apostrophe's. << you should be cringing right about now. (It's fun to have someone to play these games with, at least more fun than playing them with people who don't realize there is a game.)

I went and took their test, and I nearly never do those online tests, and did pretty well, but of course didn't have the foresight to copy-n-paste my scores.

It was a lot like a series of quizes and worksheets my Freshman English teacher deluged us with, though, so it was pretty much the sme test I took about 400 times 14 years ago.

I went to be irritated. This was the result.

Advanced
You scored 100% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 66% Expert!

I find it annoying that I can't find a way on the site to see which questions they rate as which level, and which questions I got wrong. Makes me wonder how real the test actually is. And the site DOES list some of the other ratings. I guess English Genius is one who scores 75% or better on the "expert" questions.

I want to know what questiong I got wrong, dammit!

See? The being-irritated thing is for real. :) I would not lie.

Not to toot my own horn (okay, maybe a little), but:

English Genius
You scored 100% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 88% Expert!

I can't say that I was irritated, but I do share Ivy's annoyance at not being able to find out which question(s) I got wrong.

And please, let's be careful with those apostrophes, (http://angryflower.com/bobsqu.gif) folks. People could get hurt.

Look at all my affirmation from th perl script:

You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

Uncommon intelligence, indeed. Of course you're a SupR GeNiUs. This isn't news... but what the hell did you miss in the Beginner section?

Ok, I actually still have my results open in another tab from taking the test two days ago, since which I've been vacillating about whether it was too lame to post.

English Genius
You scored 93% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 83% Expert!

So there ya go. Ask me anything ;)

(p.s. which_chick, I wonder if we ran across this on the same blog?)

Maybe we should all give our answers and try to calculate back to see which ones it thought were wrong.
