Y'know, I so totally hate how n00bs to teh intarwebmotron (Timely question: Are there still n00bs out there who don't come from the darkest reaches of the Amazon basin [Yanomamo tribespeople, I'm talking to you!] or the distant tributaries of the Congo? I understand that we entered the Eternal September in 1993, but shouldn't the, er, school year be over by now? I guess what I'm asking here is Has the huge influx of n00bs been assimilated? At this point, the only n00bs we should be getting are the ones aging up into internet use... and mostly, they're going to be cooler than we are by way of having grown up with stuff like iPods and cell phones and email.) use the abbreviation LOL. All the time, they're like LOLOLOL!!!11!!!



Ya'll have met the Quote Database, right? This isn't a new-to-me thing, but it is occasionally LOL-worthy.

Bash.org, I mean. It's like all the good parts of IRC (assuming that there are good parts) without any of the boring lame idle shit. Actually, you can do it from the comfort of your web browser so, y'know you don't even have to install or run an IRC client.

I can't help but feel, in my darker moments, that one of these days they won't bother to invade because technology will have moved on (that being about the only thing it does with predictable regularity) to newer and better things and then we'll all be like the peeps who still know how to do morse code or have ham licenses.

They *have* moved on. All the cool kids are doing that podcast/You-Tube thing, leaving us T3XOR derelicts in the dust from whence we were raised. Still kind of strikes me as kind of a waste of bandwidth.

Is it the weekend? I lose track when I'm away from home.
