It is terribly boring when I am working on weight loss because I spend probably an unhealthy amount of time thinking about food, planning how to do better with food, and considering what I can eat that will both serve to satiate and NOT MAKE FAT.

I make this sound like I don't know how to do it. I totally know how to do it. )

So my mom has been riding my ass about getting a colonoscopy. As follows:

Hey mom, what would you like for Christmas?

I want you to get a colonoscopy.

Hey mom, what would you like for your birthday?

I want you to get a colonoscopy.

Hey mom, what would you like for Easter?

I want you to get a colonoscopy.

Hey mom, how's it going?

Did you schedule a colonoscopy yet?

I once thought that mom-nagging would not be able to move me in my fifties. I was wrong. )

So I'm making more of an effort to eat less HFCS than, y'know, normal. Also sugar. I love sugar. I really do. But it's not good for me. So I'm making an effort.

Today was a good day. There was hummus (made from scratch by me, contains no sugar and no HFCS.) and there were carrots (the vegetable). There was diet coke, which is a chemical slurry of disastrous proportions but it has no sugar and no HFCS in it. There was a potato (the root vegetable) and a wedge of cabbage (also a vegetable) and butter. Butter is fattening but it does not contain any sugar to speak of nor any HFCS. Today was a pretty good day.
