Apr. 5th, 2016 07:34 pmJust got schooled on facebook for using the word embiggen… (and no, Ms. I-Have-To-Correct-Strangers-On-The-Internet, it is not ‘enbiggen’ it is EMBIGGEN. With an M. It is my word and I know how to spell it better than you do.)
Reply I did not post: In the unlikely event that I have a compelling need to write in a higher register than facebook vernacular, rest assured that I can do so. My formal writing toolbox slumbers quiescently under a thick layer of dust but the tools within were razor sharp when I laid them aside; I doubt not that they would serve me well were I to take them up again.
But I didn’t post it. There’s no point. Haters gonna hate and they wouldn’t even be amused by the reply. *sigh*
