The rate on my ingdirect.com account went up to three percent yesterday. Go, interest rates, go! (Some days I feel like the only person in the world cheering for higher interest rates.)

No, I view this as a good thing as well. I have seen it rise several times over the past few months, from 2.2 to 2.5 to 2.8 and now 3. I am cheering like crazy on the personal side b/c I have an account with them. Of course, on the professional side I am a little sick as the bank I work for is not budging off of .25 for the basic savings and .5 for the $2500-10K range and we are losing customers right and left.

But on the personal side . . . Yeah!

Nah, I'm cheering as well - only the reserve bank here didn't raise rates :(

My ingdirect.com.au account was pulling around 5.25% last time i checked, don't believe its varied significantly..

I can get >3% on an at-call, attached-to-visa-debit-card account here - as long as i don't make any withdrawals during the whole month..
