Just a short note today -- a substantial amount of the readerly audience (most of those who know me personally in real life) is off doing convention-related stuff this weekend, so they'll either catch up on Monday or totally ignore my stellar prose because it took place when they were off doing whatever. It could happen.

Anyway, to distract myself from the fact that I can't go to concom anymore, today I'm going to the local fairly-large car dealership sponsored wrestling event. It's a high school tournament. My older brother Roy volunteers as an assistant coach for the local high school team and I haven't seen his kids wrestle yet. That's the ostensible reason I'm attending this. The not-so-ostensible reason, the one I don't really plan on mentioning to parents, is that I'm going so that I can watch reasonably fit young men with good butts wear tight clothing and roll around on the floor with each other. *ahem* Yes, I know they're like sixteen. I didn't want sixteen year old boys when I was sixteen and I certainly don't want one now that I'm thirty-four. However, they're nice to look at and nobody but all ya'll needs to know why I'm really going. I figure I can get three bucks of entertainment out of that without much effort.

I'm also going to stop in at the office so that I can leech a fluffy-bishounen anime I saw reviewed over at aestheticism because I need to see if it's really as bad (Not bad as in bad, bad as in substance-free eye candy with no discernable plot -- I guess that could qualify as bad if you have a particular objection to valuing form over content. I don't value form over content for real life. However, this is fantasy material. Like Jenna's breasts, fantasy is ALL ABOUT form over content. The damn thing has swords. And frock coats. The voice cast includes my second most favorite voice actor and the eternally amusing Koyasu Takehito. How bad can it be?) as Jeanne says it is. Bt can get that for me while I'm off ogling high school wrestlers and then I'll have something to watch tonight.

I can't go to ComCon either. Instead, I get to spend the day ogling male stars (http://www.lazytown.com/about/property/sportacus) of children's TV shows. ^_^

Not to slam the relative hotness of Sportacus, but I probably had more fun with my ogling. I was tempted to take pictures but figured that doing so would lead to questions (eg "Which one's your boy?") that were just too painful to contemplate, so no visual aids from this quarter.

I deliberately opted NOT to go to comcon. Do you have any idea how long it has been since I have had the house to myself? (The other half went down for the day b/c he does work for the CON and needed to talk about contracts.) I'll give you a hint. My husband has worked from home since Feb of 2002. Take a wild guess how often I get to enjoy having the house to myself.
