Attack of the Covid-19

which_chickThe person (only one, it's a tiny office) who does the bookkeeping and phone answering and clerical paperwork stuff (taking in rents, writing receipts, keeping track of paying assorted bills, doing payroll, entering expenses in the computer, etc.) for my work has Covid-19. She did get vaccinated but I'm not sure if she got a booster shot or not. She probably did. She doctors a hell of a lot more than I do and she's pretty careful about her exposure most of the time.
They're telling her she can't come back to work until next Tuesday, which, OK, seems reasonable. (She's been out all this week so far, didn't come in on Monday.) She thinks she caught the Covid from her husband, but he tested negative despite being quite sick. No idea. Anyway, I don't have a problem with the stay-home-when-sick thing. That seems like a good idea. I don't want Covid.
Since it's a small office, though, I had to figure out how to pay urgent (due in less than two weeks) bills and do some light banking today. I do not generally do these things for the same reasons that my office staff isn't an accomplished tile setter or drywall finisher. I don't make her reset toilets, she doesn't make me fill out deposit tickets her way.
I still can't find the bank envelopes. I mean, I know we have them. I've taken them to the bank many a time. She reuses the damn things like they're precious. They get soft and worn, like an old pair of blue jeans. I do not know where she keeps them, though. Probably in the office safe. Do we have an office safe? I don't even know.
