Back at (riding) lesson this past week. Was pretty OK. I've been on Bird pretty regularly since the cast came off -- when miserable April weather is cooperative -- also he's getting over his issues vis a vis the camper with the huge bark-y dogs. Turns out what he needs is to know that I expect him to FOCUS and ATTEND TO HIS JOB and well, practice doing that. Hunh. Who could possibly have forseen that? Shocker.

I got the playpen fixed up (tightened up the fence, reattached the fencer, filled the water trough, swept out chicken coop, etc.) and put Bird and his Friend (Punch this year) in it today. We're trying a hay feeder this year to reduce waste -- Bird throws the hay around a lot and I'd rather he didn't do that so much. He gets standard chow in the AM with Punch (they get the same so if they swap containers it does not matter) and he gets his Extra chow in the afternoon when I see him and re-up the water & hay in the playpen.

Also in horse news DLB will be at lesson barn from mid-April through mid-June and maybe we can do bi-weekly lessons with DLB? Truck has been running well and so I'm kinda up for that. I think bi-weekly is enough time in between for me to work on stuff and cloes enough that we might be able to make progress. So there's that.

This evening I'm going to dinner theater (Southern Fried Funeral, I believe it's a comedy) with my dad. Should be a good time.

How dare you expect him to focus! lol Yeah, that can be hard.

Hope you had fun at the dinner theater.
