Took a walk today. Late December has its moments...

Also, this is a very burly tree. :)

Burl-y? Get it? Yeah, whatever. I'm not a comedian.

I also geotagged the location of the interesting seep up the hill, it's at

40.039212, -78.193343 which, let me do the work for you, is here:

My guesstimate (the other day) is marked 2 on this map...

Not bad for ballparking it. :) And yes, I can set off into the woods without a map and still locate the same smallish seep repeatedly. It's kind of up the hill and near-ish one branch of the creek. If you're curious, the smallish seep itself looks like this:

It's not terribly far from the burly tree but it's a decent walk any way you slice it. Anyway, it's permanent, gets some sunlight, is completely fish-free, and should be inspected for interesting odonates in better weather. That's why I was out looking at it today.

In other news, took Bird for a spin bright and early this morning. It was muddy and I'm still dying from stirrup-free longe line work in lesson on Thursday.

Love maps. What did you use to put the red numbers on the topo map? It looks all official-ish.
