which_chickDownloaded and watched the Bourne movies. There are a lot of chase scenes in these movies and not really enough plotty talking. I like plotty talking. I'd like even more indoctrination stuff, but perhaps that's a personal taste. (I also thought there should be way more beating-the-shit-out-of-Brad-Pitt in Fight Club, too. YMMV.) Anyway, while catching up on my five-year-old (at best) pop culture, I got to thinking about the Bourne movies that didn't get made...
Bourne Free: made into a fine killing machine by Greenpeace (or something), kills poachers, rescues a lion cub, raises it to be released back into the wild.
Bourne Again: Fine killing machine, now with a helping of evangelical Christian. Converts targets before sending them toValhalla Heaven.
Bourne to Run: Fine killing machine *and* ultramarathoner.
Bourne on the Fourth of July: Fine killing machine on mission that went horribly wrong, becomes paralyzed, starts killing off congresspersons until wrongs in veterans benefits are redressed.
Bourne Yesterday: Fine killing machine dates corrupt tycoon, realizes corruption of same under tutelage of very attractive mentor at The Institute, makes off mentor, tycoon's money, tycoon's life.
Actually, considering the available options, the movies that were made were still (excessively car-chase-y and short on dialogue, long on explosions) not that bad.
