Apparently Microsoft wants people to host Windows 7 Launch Parties. They've made a video about how to have a Launch Party in case you're too stupid to figure that out for yourself. (Assuming you *want* to have a Launch Party to present Windows 7 to your nearest and dearest, there's a real chance that you might be too stupid to plan your own party.) The video mentiones pre-planned activities aligned to assorted party themes and bonus activities and stuff. It's almost like they're trying to get people to have one of those quasi-social "parties" that women are prone to being forced to attend, like Pampered Chef and Yankee Candle and Longaberger Baskets and Tupperware and so forth.
I am not sure why anyone would do this for free... Microsoft wants people to sign up for this and lead people, using handholding and guided practice, through the assorted and sundry features of their new OS. I kept watching the video and trying to decide if it is satire or not. I still don't know. There is a website that allegedly has the party information (signups are closed, bummer) and the themes and crap. The company (houseparty) has apparently done similar parties for other companies. It's a real marketing company... but it's a damn crappy youtube Launch Party video.
