Jul. 23rd, 2009 10:12 pmTrys took Dinero out for a spin today, across the road and to the end of the corn field. This wasn't a real big ride, but there was steering and there were brakes and Dinero led our little group of two for more than half the ride. I went along on Roxy (smallish friendly grey follow-along pony, no actual skills of her own -- chosen because she lived in the field with Dinero and could thus be a calming presence) who did an okay job for a pony that nobody has ever asked to actually do anything like, y'know, ride out on her own. We'll try again tomorrow, probably with some trotting, and then Dinero will be done enough to count as "green broke" and the lady can come and take her away. She (Dinero) hasn't done anything that even remotely looks worried or nervous or unsteady. She's pretty sensible and steady and laid-back about the whole thing... a little more pissy than Broadway (her year mate, gone to the same lady last fall) but not bad at all.
