The amount of productive that I was today... amazing. So much so that you will be tired just reading about all the shit I did today.

I got up.
I had tea and looked at the internet briefly. The government is buying shares in banks. Color me not amused.

I went in to town to get the dumptruck and the rolls for the picnic. At the grocery, I also picked up ziplock baggies for the meat from the meat sale b/c I needed to portion and freeze that and I was out of ziplocks.

After that (without going home first, b/c gasoline costs money), I went to pony. At pony, I fed the red bitch (Nicknick). I taped Trevor's hair (which Trys had remembered to stop and get on the way home from Joey's this morning) to the DNA test form and located a stamp for that and entrusted it to Trysta. I also led Trys around on Wren, who didn't seem terribly worried about the whole riding thing. Then, I was going to put harness on Lute, but we couldn't find the hole punch. V. disappointing. Note to self: Purchase a leather hole punch.

I went home. I unloaded the dumptruck, measured all the wood to see what would fit in my stove, stacked the stuff that would fit into the woodpile, restacked the stuff that would NOT fit, and loaded it back on the dump truck (we have other places that can use bigger logs than my stove will take so these logs were not wasted). I'm running out of places to stack wood and there is still wood in my yard and more coming. *sigh*

With the dumptruck firewood issues taken care of, I cut down the (dead) peony foliage, cut the iris foliage back to 2" high for the winter, and removed the dead tomato plants in the garden. I threw all the foliage from these undertakings across the road where I dump all the vegetation I don't need or want. (I live in the woods. I also own, more or less, the woods across the road where I dump my unwanted organics.)

In an alarming and unexpected turn of events, then I mowed the grass (!) including the grass that I do not normally mow (Here, I mean that I cut the grass that only gets cut twice a year as well as the grass that gets mown four or five times a year.) so that the grass would be winter-ready and I wouldn't have to look at it being messy and up through the snow all fucking winter long plus being brown and ratty snarled in March and half of April. (Spring comes late here.) It looks tidy. I probably would like looking at my lawn more if I mowed it more often. However, given how much I fucking hate mowing, more-frequent mowing isn't very likely.

Then, I dug up and labled irises for Wife of Brother-the-Younger. Brother-the-Younger is coming out tomorrow and I'll be driving him back home afterward and delivering the irises, so I figured it would be best if they were ready to go.

I also divvied up and froze two pork loins and a package of hot sausage, gathered up the dead plastic buckets from the yard so that I could take them to the trash on Monday, and shoveled up all the wood bits off the driveway. Oh, and I tested the pump for the well in my yard, watered the new baby rose bushes (Ispahan and Fantin Latour, both doing well), fixed dinner (bacon and green beans), and cleaned the kitchen floor.

Fear me and my busy day, damn it.
