The internet, she is a bad thing for me. Today I went, downloaded, and read scanlations of the entirety of the YBP in more-idiomatic translation with fewer errors. On so doing, I was surprised how much of the sense I got -- sometimes a little, sometimes a lot -- but anyway, that was a fun and eye-bleedy way to spend the evening. This doesn't mean that I won't go back through the YBP more again later, but for now I'm sort of YBP'd out. Twenty five chapters (at about twenty pages each) of YBP is a lot in an evening.
I also pulled my (ancient) YBP stuff off the server at work (I still have my web pages from aeons ago. They're not online, but I still have all the content.) and emailed them to myself at home. Paging through that ancient history, I'd like to take a moment to note for the record that I'm totally fun to read. (I'm appallingly fond of my own prose.) Looking at my stuff from a distance of four or five years makes me wish I could be that amusing nowadays. Maybe I am and it's just that all ya'll don't generally laugh at the jokes. (Did you get the stripe pun? Did it pass you by? Was it just me who liked the Budweiser Clydesdales comment? How many of you read up on garter snake mating balls, anyway? Are you people even trying, out there?)
Some days I feel like nobody is entering my Marie Curie Lookalike Contest, damn it.
In the mail today, I also got book 6 (but not book 5, WTF? I ordered them at the same time...) of the elf porn books so I read that today, too. (I read fairly quickly and the elf porn is not a particularly challenging read.) I am pleased to announce that This Book Has More Plot! It's a plot-o-rama! Lots o' Plot! It's got plot that happened off screen (in book 5, probably) even and is being discussed in plotly goodness in book 6. YAY! There's a fairly minimal amount of fucking in book 6, but there's A LOT of nifty plot, so yay! Yay plot! (I am not being sarcastic. I'm honestly pretty thrilled about the plot.) Hurrah plot!

And yes, I got the jokes.
And yes, I love your prose as well!
