So I'm at WalMart after work today, shopping for new boots for work. The old boots for work are no longer watertight and I'm tired of having prune-toes after cutting dewy grass all morning. It's time for new boots for work. This took rather longer than expected because I have difficulty selecting a pair of work boots that define me as a person. (You're laughing. I can hear you from here. Please stop. I'm being serious, damn it all.) Also, I don't like the girl-work-boots because they're insufficiently work-y and I don't have a hell of a lot of selection in the guy-work-boots aisle because I wear a men's 7 or 7 1/2, depending on how they're cut. (This is usually the smallest offered size for guy-work-boots at WalMart.) So, y'know, suxor. I did buy a pair of boots though they aren't camel colored like the ones I had. They are more chocolate colored. Tomorrow morning I will be stepping out in a bold new color. Fer shurr.

As I was wandering around in existential uncertainty following the momentous decision to purchase chocolate work boots instead of camel colored ones (I freely admit that while I shop for work boots in the men's work boot section, my mind is still firmly ensconced in the girl color section. Men's work boots are probably not colored "camel" or "chocolate". They're probably "yellow" or "brown". But I digress.), I noticed that they're pushing back to school items. I suppose it is August. In one of the aisle-islands, they had a big selection of CDs. Apparently these are a back to school item. Who am I to quibble with the efficient Mass Marketing Machine (tm) that is WalMart? CDs are a back to school item. Gotcha. Anyway, it said "Own the Classics!" I pushed my cart over to see what the Classics! were. I did not expect to see The Bangles. I did not expect to see Whitesnake or Def Leppard. I did not expect to see Billy-fucking-Idol. WalMart, I respectfully submit that I'm not that damned old. Not. NOT, damn your eyes, NOT. I am NOT old enough to be someone else's Classics!

I also picked up two movies I've been wanting to see. (There will be no commentary about the relative quality of the movies. I like bad movies. I really do.) Movie the first: Ocean's Eleven -- haven't seen it yet. Yes, I do live in a cave. Also, I feel like ogling Brad Pitt. Sue me. Movie the second: She's the Man -- Buffy's little sister dresses up in drag for a round of gender-humor with a bunch of pretty young things. (No, I have no standards. None at all. If it sucks, I've just spent 105 minutes looking at a bunch of pretty young things. Oh, the inhumanity! I don't know if I can bear it, but I'll try to press on, if only to be able to review this for your sakes.)

So, tonight is going to be Movie Night. There will be no horse activities this evening. Sorry.
