There was a nice breeze last night and I really wanted to go out in it but my enthusiasm was dampened by the torrential downpour that accompanied the breeze. Buggerit. So, no boat news for yesterday, just a helpful piece of plumbing information. If the water supply line to your bathroom sink is leaking, the proper course of action is not, I repeat NOT, duct tape. You cannot fix plumbing with duct tape. I know that it seems like you should be able to do so, but even making a large, fist-sized lump of duct tape over the leak is not going to fix a leaky water supply line. Your water supply is under pressure. Pressure is what makes the water come out of the spigot despite the powerful and relentless force o' gravity. It will also make the water sneak out in the seams of your duct tape repair (I use the term loosely) no matter how much you don't want it to. In summary, if you are my tenant and have a leak in your water supply line, do not reach for the duct tape. Call me and I will come fix your problem without laughing at you where you can see me. If you aren't my tenant, you can go on trying to fix your plumbing issue with duct tape but I don't think you will have any better luck than my tenant did.
