Jul. 8th, 2006 07:42 amI did some practice gybes last night but there was not really enough wind to make the boat go splat even if I fucked up, so it wasn't the sort of practice I needed. I got to work on what it *should* look like because everything was so slow and gentle, but it's easy to do when the wind is a soft breeze. What I really need is more practice at speed with rather more wind involved. When the wind picks up, everything happens faster, sometimes a lot faster. Also, the force on the sail is bigger and the boat flops over more readily and the whole thing is just way more educational. I don't want a gale or anything, but a bigger breeze with maybe the leaves flipping over sometimes, that would be helpful. Certainly the wind lords will hear my plea. Certainly.
