Apr. 27th, 2006 05:54 pmWhile I'm sure you are all anxiously awaiting your evenly update vis a vis my sock progress, there isn't going to be one tonight. Bright dawned the morning and golden tapestry green were the mountains as I set me forth to work. At work I carefully put the bag, the felted knitting bag, which held, secreted in its depths, the socks in progress, on my desk and proceeded to assemble my plan for the day's labors. As the sun ran his course in the heavens, I fell prey to the will o' the wisp yclept work, parted from my desk, and was led astray to pursue various and sundry shining lights in the distance which disappeared as I approached them. Buggerit. Waylaid by sech foolishness, I unfortunately did not return to the office to pick up the knitting which I'd left there at the beginning of my qvest. *ahem* So it befell me that there wold be no progress on ye socke this evening. Sorry about that but of greater sorrow still is that I did not either make my way to the Sagacious Hall of Provender, today being one of the produce delivery days wherein the delights of Nature are fresshly set forth. (While all days are "fresshe" at the Sagacious Hall of Provender, some days are fressher than others.) And I need milch from the coo for my coffee, damn it all.
I believe I will continue with the game plan of knitting and watching Hikaru. I'll just be doing *different* knitting. I need to swatch for the next project. This does not mean that I'm going to be unfaithful to the socks. I... the socks are my one true project. They are. I will finish them. I am not cheating on the socks. I just need to swatch this other stuff for a project. It contains possum fur. Really. There was a bounty on possums in New Zealand or somewhere. I have no idea why anyone would pay for dead possums in New Zealand -- perhaps they were getting in the way and destroying native species or something. Anyway, what with the bounty and all, they got lots of dead possums and it would seem that *someone* made yarn from their furry little corpses. (Generally yarn is not fatal to the fur-bearers in question but unlike with sheep or angora rabbits or llamas or whatever, nobody wanted the damn possums and this was more of a Let us not completely waste their furry little corpses instead of a Let us raise them gloriously and systematically forfood wool purposes!.
So. There will be swatching. Not cheating, swatching. It's different. There will be normal sock content tomorrow.
