How are things going in my world?

Memoirs of a Geisha: The Baron just wanked off behind Sayuri and gave her a pretty kimono. She's also just had some good news from Mother regarding her status at the Okiya. (This puts us at about chapter 24.) Grandma is still at the rehab place and I'm still visiting every night (except this past Saturday) and reading the damn geisha book. Constant as the rising sun, I am.

The SKP: Thirty inches of knitting completed. Six inches or so to go. On second to last skein of yarn. I may, in fact, have bought one skein too many. Sue me. Baby shower is this Saturday. I have got to make six inches or so from now to Saturday. Also there must be time for blocking and weaving in of ends. This is not only do-able, it is going to actually occur. For real. I promise. Note to self: soap for handwashing wool. Also needing to have paper for wrapping of baby shower. With extra cuteness and possibly also pastel colors.

Location of my Dangerous Liaisons DVD: No fucking clue. Peeps. Any of you got any idea where this is? Speak now...

Email from not_your_real: Inconsequential. I'll be seeing her this weekend anyway, so not really worth her time to email me at this juncture.

Soup for shower: Not yet. Working on the stock tonight.

Bread for shower: Not yet.

Odds of being able to pick up the dinner-and-movie offer I got via email: Not this week, nor the next. April is looking passable, though. I'll let you know. Send me a mailing address and I'll ship out mailable stuff if the owner is getting too twitchy.

Maryland Sheep and Wool: This is the same weekend as I have tickets for the Sunday matinee of La Boheme. It's the first full weekend in May. Someone (? [livejournal.com profile] amywon) wanted to go with me. Pencil that into your schedule.

Going to Amsterdam: June 9-13. Taking Trys, Ash, and Jacob. I do not know how on earth I wound up agreeing to shepherd two seventeen year old boys through the bars, coffeehouses, and iniquitous dens of Amsterdam, but it certainly appears that I am so doing. In vaguely-related news, I'm told that a Merkin passport is worth about 25K. I'm contemplating how hard it would be to get the boy back into the country without a passport...

Passport: Forms downloaded off the internet. Where the hell do you get the pictures done? Brother-the-elder, it is to you that I am speaking.

Weather: Quite springlike. Spring is, of course, red.

General state of the union: Feeling remarkably civil these days. Pretty much done being snitty because it takes a lot of energy to be snitty.

Umm.. you can get passport photos at places like Walgreens and stuff, I think. Drug store type places that have that sort of photo lab thing going on are the only places I can think of. I assume that they take that kind of passport photos for actual passports seeing as they're called passport photos and all, but I don't have a passport so I don't know really. I just had to get these done for my student ID and I went to Walgreens.

We don't have a Walgreens but we do have a CVS which did mine for a paltry eight bucks. The passport picture is not going to be a very flattering one of me, but I figure I used up all my official-photo-karma on my last driver's license, which is quite attractive.

I believe that corpses come back into the country without passports. So you now know how much the boy's life is worth, as well as knowing how much a passport costs. Passport: $25K. Boy's life: $25K minus cost of assassin.

No, no. His mother loves him and, despite his youthly enthusiasm for beer, pot, and women of easy virtue, he's not a bad kid. Also he returned my corset without much prompting. That's a good boy.
