As I mentioned in this post, the remaining food budget for 2005 was 1870.53. Since I went to the grocery this evening, the NEW, IMPROVED remaining food budget is now 1853.04. Some of you in the studio audience are already pretty well briefed on what sorts of things I eat. The rest of you are probably wondering how in the hell I get out of a grocery store for less than twenty bucks a visit.

My brother Roy bought me three grapefruits today. I have eaten one already. It was pink and delightful and, due to the way I eat grapefruit, not-quite bitter. (Not up to speed on my grapefruit habits? You can read more here.)

The grapefruits were a dollar apiece at the grocery, a price I would not pay but Roy did. For me.

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast.

they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold.
