Today the beef fairy visited and gave me free beef. If you do not have a beef fairy, well, sucks to be you. At any rate, I wound up with two packets of sirloin steaks, four packets of hamburger, an arm roast (for the crock pot), a soup bone, and some stew meat to go with the soup bone. Each of the packets contains an amount of beef suitable for serving four persons once or one person four times. (This would be the 'deck of cards' serving size we are SUPPOSED to be eating, not the amount we actually eat.) Anyway, there will be red meat in my future and it will be free red meat, which helps with the budgeting thing. The beef fairy also took some of my Pratchett novels (claimed he was borrowing them) and ate a bowl of my beef-and-barley soup which I made from purloined (that's a method of acquisition, not a cut) beef last weekend.

As expected, my records showed that I was sent $1600 in error (see yesterday's entry), so I mailed that back with an explanatory note (Dear Debtor: You do not owe me sixteen hundred dollars. Refer to the enclosed amortization schedule, where you can see that you only owe me sixty-two dollars and fifty-four cents. I have voided your check for sixteen hundred dollars and am returning it to you. Please send me a new check for sixty-two dollars and fifty-four cents within thirty days of your receipt of this letter. Thanks.) Hopefully, he will send me a new and better check for the amount he actually owes me.

I also got the doily back from the framer's today. It is all done and framed! YAY! It looks good. Framing is not inexpensive.

As a person who has a hard time eating a lot of meat, I'm glad that the serving size is, indeed, so small. I might actually be getting enough protein that way. Ha!
