Jan. 10th, 2006 08:46 pmLame update today. I'm just too tired to be witty, informative, or amusing. Going back to work was fine and I think it was the right thing to do, but I am absolutely whipped at the end of the day. The "go to bed at 9 PM and get up at 6 AM" thing is getting pretty damned old.
DDR is still going along nicely when I'm not too tired to play. I can tell when I'm too tired because I fuck up songs that I can ordinarily clear with way too much ease. The game has allowed me to buy the "continuous" or "pretend this is an aerobics class" or whatever the fuck challenge mode. That's been amusing me successfully here for a while. I can set how many songs I want to do before I get a break, so it's a nice way to get moving and keep moving. Currently, I'm doing them on "light" because at that level, I don't just stand there with my jaw dropping. It's a level that's fun for me. I am hitting "standard" on the dance master thing and it's kicking my ass, so having some success elsewhere is reassuring. I do not entirely suck. Yay! Also, in this continuous thing, the steps are different -- the "light" level has the occasional eighth-note or diagonal pair landing... just the whole song isn't made of them. That's enough to encourage me and get me some practice reading that shit, which is all to the good.
The NYT has been running lots of information about Type 2 Diabetes lately, so if you have an interest in that (and you should -- it's a growing health problem in the US0, you might want to check that out. Very interesting stuff.
