Unto you I bring glad tidings: Doctor visit went as expected and I am now richer and poorer.

Also I bring argh, no, damn it, that's not fair! tidings about A Feast For Crows.

P. 469-470. He appears to be dead. Damn.

I think I need to go swim in that river in Egypt.

Damn.

I don't have my copy to track down by page number. Who?

Ah. Um. Right.

Monastery?

Monastery. There's some unclear language, eg The man you hunt is dead and I buried him myself.

But then Brienne says "Sandor Clegane is dead."

And monk-y boy doesn't say "Hell, yeah, he's pushing up the daisies, none of that nailed to a perch foolishness here!" Nope. He says He is at rest.

And, y'know, the very next paragraph or so has that Monk-y Boy all telling us about how he died a knight and was reborn a monk. Are we supposed to be reading this literally or no?

I'd feel a lot better about all of this, though, if there were any actual sign of Cleganity about the place, which there isn't on first glance. I will have to read more tonight after work (lunch hour is getting on toward lunch seventy-minutes here) and see what stew I can make of this oyster.

I'd look at that big, surly gravedigger surrounded by dogs, were I you.

I noticed the surly gravedigger... my problem here is that I was pretty sure Brienne knew what Sandor looked like. He's not an easy guy to mistake for someone else, what with the burned face and all. Of course, if she's only seeing him up over the hill, from a distance, that might work, but he was also clearing the dishes in the hall... but surly gravedigger guy gets mentioned twice, and as a novice, no less. It could work.

And, hell, is he going to be any *fun* if he gets religion? I liked him the way he was. I don't want him to be nice.

religion doesn't HAVE to be nice. *coughCRUSADEScough* 'Member the warrior abbots/cardinals/monks from the Middle Ages? Just 'cause you're a man of the cloth doesn't necessarily mean you lay down arms.

It could. That's what I'm hanging on to.

Oh, MAN are you in for some facepalming later, though. Stupid cliffhangers. *grump*
