Picture posting, picture posting, time to do some picture posting... (If you somehow don't know the tune that I'm singing along to, please click here.)

All on the same page now? Right, then.

The only thing I have blooming in the yard (besides the house-eating campsis) is the echinacea. I really like these. They're architecturally interesting.

Also, I got a package in the mail today. Yay for packages!! Here is a still life with soap:

I have not yet tried the soaps but they look very interesting. I'll keep you posted, as I'm certain everyone else is as interested in my soap fetish as I am.

Finally, here is a progress shot on the mitten:

Today, this morning, while I was driving to get the boy for work, the radio played Mr. Roboto. (For our younger audience members, this is a Styx song that was fairly popular long ago, into history back*, when I was but thirteen or so.) I'm familiar enough with the song to sing along to most of the lyrics. They're not like a surprise or anything, so I'm tooling along in my car at oh-dark-hundred (6:50 AM) when all of a sudden one of the damn lines resolves in my mind as ひみつをしりたい... kind of like those fucking magic eye pictures allegedly work, the ones where you're supposed to squint and lose focus and all of a sudden you can see sharks or Elvis or something? Those. I can't do those, and I've spent probably more time than is sane trying.

*phrase lifted wholesale from Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome

Oohh!! I love Lush! Try their bar shampoos--the red one (cinnamon scented, I think it might be called New) gives my hair actual *body*--like people with real hair have. :)

I like the mitten--the striped thumb is pretty cool. I thought you were thinking of mauve for the thumb.

I tried mauve. That totally didn't work, so I revised the plan.

Awww, be nice, I'm only 24 :(

Mr Roboto is one of their more memorable songs.. one day I have to dig up that whole.. album? soundtrack? whatever you want to call it..

Angry Young Man is one that runs through my head a lot.. there's such a lot of Angry Young Men around these days, and they really all do seem to have bright futures...

I even sing it at myself sometimes when I'm felling particularly annoyed with myself *sigh*

Incidentally.. I believe there was at least one Queen concert that Styx opened.

If I could time-travel just once, forget Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha - that concert is where I'd be. The.. don't know what to call it.. genius sounds good.. The genius that is Styx, combined with the Voice that is Freddie... *heaven*

I'm glad I'm not the only person fixated on that voice. It's NOT just me. That makes me normal, right, if other people do it?

Yay mittens! That is very cool.

I knew about the "domo arigatou" in Mr. Roboto (it was my A #1 favorite song in fifth grade), but I didn't remember it having any other foreign words! I wonder what English I was hearing instead of himitsu o shiritai?

Dunno, but it's right at the beginning of the lyrics to the song.
