which_chickMitten in progress. It's just boring, boring ribbing right now. I'm adding interest to the boring ribbing by doing it one round of throw and one round of pick and also by rewatching Utena in the background. So pretty!
The Book comes out tomorrow. I've had mine pre-ordered since January -- it'll be shipping to the office and I expect to pick it up after I show 219 at ten tomorrow morning. I will probably have The Book read by tomorrow evening and I imagine I'll be wanting to discuss it. Just a heads-up, people, if I say I'm going to talk about The Book and then there's an LJ cut, don't hit the cut unless you want to know who lives, who dies, who winds up being a rent boy in a seedier part of London, and other vital details regarding The Book. (Probably there won't be actual rent boy goodness in The Book, but I can always hope.)
Anyway, I'll be good what with the spoilers and such, for a week or so, by which time I figure all True Believers (and please do that very Stan Lee, for me, willya?) will have finished reading The Book and therefore cannot be further spoiled.

Date: 2005-07-17 11:56 am (UTC)In the mitten project (yes, there was time for that yesterday even what with The Book) I have made great strides that I now need to rip out because I knit tighter than I thought I would (swatch was on circular needles, actual project was on bamboo dpns) and I need four more sts on the hand and probably an equal number on the thumb. *sigh* This is going to mean ripping out about three and a half inches of two-color, two-strand knitting. Again. Fuck. On the plus side, I'm getting amazingly scarily good at the two-handed thing and I've been managing to take notes.
Important for people who knit and don't want to rip things out: Follow the directions. If you insist on doing your own thing, there is going to be ripping out.
