I said that there was a roof project. It wasn't huge -- 23 feet by 6 and a half -- but we'd never done roof before.




This is me sitting on my ass... it was after we discovered the two-color problem with the shingles. Stupid loading-dock guy.


This is my cousin Sandra who is sturdier than she appears. She made fun of my man-arms but was otherwise a good sport about being on a roof.


This is the roof, after we got done with it. The shingle pattern is not visible except from the third story bedroom window, so I feel okay about it. It's also regular and not horrible-looking. One does what one can. Also, the shingles are mostly straight. Considering that we'd never done shingles before, I was happy with that.

Sitting on the roof is fun!

Enjoy it while you can still climb out the window! The spouse won't let me sit on the roof all that much. And since I'm afraid of heights I have difficulties with the ladders and all...
