May. 11th, 2005 07:04 amI was so tired last night after dinner that I could not keep my eyes open. That would be why there was no Tuesday night grocery post. Sorry about that, but I do have a Wednesday morning grocery post for you.
Old grocery budget: $1499.84
Amount spent at grocery: 28.62
Amount spent at assorted food joints: 5.43 (chicken tenders and some bottled water)
New grocery budget: $1465.79
The grocery was about half torn apart when I went. There were aisles half empty of food, bunches of stuff sitting in the middle of of the aisles on carts. I expect that they're having a corporate reorganization of some sort. Whatever. If they move stuff, I just won't be able to find it. I am currently unable to locate the bacon. Honestly. Isn't that a staple food item? Should it not be at least reasonably close to the meat section? (I think bacon is made of meat. If there exists soy bacon, it is surely unsatisfying.) I'd buy bacon if I could find it.
If I were married, I would not be having this problem. I could send the man out to bring home the bacon.
(There are likely those of you now rolling your eyes on the grounds that the entirety of two paragraphs ago was a setup for that less than inspired humor. It wasn't. I actually cannot find the bacon at my Weis. Suggestions on that front are welcome.)
