(no subject)
Mar. 30th, 2005 08:39 pmOne of my younger brother's favorite books when he was little was What Do People Do All Day?. He got the non-communist version for his son, he liked it so much. So.
Here's what I did today...
Helped Roy unclog Melva's toilet. Icky. Note to self: Do not try to flush whole bars of soap or air fresheners.
Discussed removal of cat from Melva's apartment. Cat allegedly magically appeared following a weekend away by the (later determined to be) undocumented resident in the apartment. Gotta say, I have that problem, too. Freaking Sailor Moon magical cats. We're overrun with the fuckers. I can't leave home without coming back to six more damn cats in my house. This one's white, so it's probably an Artemis clone. Luna (iirc) is the black one. Apparently it brought its own litter box, food bowls, and supplies with it because those were in the apartment. Gotta be a magical cat, a cat like that.
Trimmed out evil sidewalk-eating hedge at 400, gathered up bits, removed.
Investigated new accustat for Scott's apartment. Ordered same. It will be here Friday. Also made mental note to fix his doorjamb, which is busted but good. So, incidentally, was Scott. His (court-appointed) lawyer was visiting while we were there attending to Melva's toilet issue and her unrelated but simultaneous cat and undocumented resident issues. I don't think that the court-appointed lawyer really had much of a grasp on what hour Scott was likely to be awake at.
Installed new light fixture at Terrace 3, also investigated and explained fridge leak at same location. It only took me two tries to put the light fixture in right-side-up. Go me!
Delivered letter to Melva regarding non-tenant residents of her apartment. Explained to non-tenant resident of Melva's apartment that we could not evict someone who was not on the lease. (People who know me in real life might recall that this sounds a lot like Ardell's problem with his wife's son. It is the same problem, kind of, but with a different group of people in the same building. It's our drama building. It could be a daytime television soap with no trouble.) She wanted us to evict her so that she could get on housing, which is why we were doing the explaining about why we couldn't evict her in the first place. Pennsylvania resident? It's a good bet that your tax dollars are supporting this daft bint.
Dropped off check to the sidewalk guy for the first half of the sidewalk job in Everett. He's lost the estimate and so have we, but he said he'd look for it. The sidewalk is installed, anyway, so that's good.
Got on the roof at 210 and at 629 to slop some aluminum roof sealing stuff on and tack down loose shingles to see if we could fix the roof leaks.
Painted two rooms of Terrace 7, which will need to be redone tomorrow for a second coat.
After work...
Played with horse. (Horse was good.)
Split some stove wood for Hazel because I was bored.
Drove home, unloaded hedge bits from truck, fixed dinner, updated LJ.
