Mar. 11th, 2005 07:22 amThere are ducks and geese along the river in Bedford. They're year-round residents of the place. You can gauge how cold it is by the ducks. In really cold weather, they have their heads tucked down, making themselves all compact, even when they're walking about. If it's not so cold, they hold their heads up higher.
This is, at least to me, something like telling the temperature from how the cats are sleeping. I just think it's interesting, is all.
