Feb. 9th, 2005 03:59 pmOn a lighter note, here's an article about computing from THE FUTURE -- it'll be appearing in the March '05 issue of the venerable Dr. Dobb's. Hell of a fine read, it is, even for the nontechnical among us. Go take a look.
It seems that Lucas Entertainment (Note: This is not the company that makes Star Wars movies, okay? Totally different. Totally.) is remaking Dangerous Liaisons as a gay porn film... and, y'know, I can kind of see that. One of the guys in the film has been blogging about the surprising volume of dialogue and set involved in the production, which I think is probably a good sign. (Yes, I do read the blog of a gay porn star. He's quite entertaining.) I also find the entire porn industry kind of amusing in an "all humans are basically complicated tubes of meat" way, so I follow along with that as a general rule.
It's been bugging me for a while that fleshbot comes in straight and gay flavors but clickiting on them leads me to conclude that fleshbot is a male-defined experience because "straight" gives me tittie shots and "gay" gives me n3kk1d menz. *sigh* Am I not supposed to be reading fleshbot?
No, you idiot, Dr. Dre's dead, he's locked in my basement.
Fleshbot serves a largely male audience. It is sensible for them to target their site divisions to work as expected for the bulk of their readership. Probably this is me being oversensitive. *breathe* *breathe*
Let it go.
