So I've been using imgur for hosting images for this blog. It... kinda sucks? It is kinda sucking worse than it used to for #reasons. I am getting about done with Imgur.

Downside is that I know how to effing run it and anything else, I do not know how to run. There will be a learning curve. Possibly a learning cliff.

Look, I just want to have somewhere to stuff pictures when I want to display pictures here. I don't do pictures EVERY SINGLE post but when there are pictures, I'd like the pictures to work. Imgur isn't doing that reliably any more.

Buggerit.

So I have googled for solutions. Cloudinary has a pretty generous freebie account and their stuff is faster. Also it might really work, where Imgur is far too frequently not working these days.

It is a bit different, though, so I gotta learn how to use it. It does many things that I do not need it to do. And there are like a thousand pictures on Imgur that I need to get out of there before that whole mess crashes to the ground. There's black smoke blowing out the starboard engine right now, so I best get on that soonest. Ah, the problems of the digital age.

But here's a picture of my horse, from earlier this summer, when all things seemed possible and my fucking elderly cellphone took an absolutely stunning picture in golden sunlight that somehow looks kinda like fine fucking art. I can't do this on demand, but sometimes I can do it by accident. I love this damn picture.

Enjoy.

This photograph is (allegedly) optimized for your viewing pleasure and delivered to us by the fine folks at cloudinary. For free. Unless I fucked something up, anyway.

That is a lovely picture, and the sunlight looks like encapsulated nostalgia.

Imgur has definitely started to decline (I haven't used it much, at least not for a long while, but have seen more broken images hosted there.) I'm not familiar with cloudinary, but it's nice to know of a potential free option out there!

Learning new technology can totally suck.

Good picture.
