I have a Bubba mug for my coffee. This is because it's cheaper to make my own coffee at home than it is to pay $4.00 for a bought coffee every day. It's probably (over the course of years) even more environmentally friendly to use a stainless-steel and plastic reusable mug every day than it is to get fresh paper ones with sippy cup lids every day. Dunno.

Anyway, I have a Bubba mug, this one, if the absurdly long amazon link works. Apparently it's a Bubba 18oz Hero Vacuum-Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug, but I refer to it as my coffee sippy cup. I use it every day for my coffee and have done for the last two years.

A note on terminology: This is a sippy cup. Fine, an adult sippy cup, but still. People who call them travel mugs are fooling themselves.

Anyway. I've had sippy cups prior and they have been largely unsatisfactory for a variety of reasons. I've had this one since the coffee discovery of 2023 and I've drug it to work and dropped it on the floor and so forth. Washed it a lot. Two years, give or take, into my life with the Bubba mug, I now feel moved to review this product.

This thing does not leak. It does not leak around the threaded lid. It does not leak around the flip-up thing that covers the sipping hole. It started out not leaking and it has kept on not leaking. I feel confident in my review of its not-leaking quality.

It has a carefully-designed lid. The lid is threaded, takes 1 full revolution to lock. So, if you put the lid on with the sippy hole in the correct position when you start, the sippy hole is in the correct position when the lid has been fully threaded and tightened. This is fucking excellent design, bubba mug people. And this matters because the bubba mug has a handle that is on one side. You're going to want the sippy hole in the correct orientation and it's super easy to achieve this with the bubba mug lid.

There is a silicon washer ring for the lid to help with not-leaking. It is removeable and washable so that when it gets icky it can be made un-icky. It's also smooth and easy to clean.

The mug does not leak around the nice flip-up thing that keeps it from spilling when it's closed. No leaking. Also, the flip up thing stays flipped up until you tell it to be flipped down. It will not hit you in the nose by accident.

If you drop the sippy cup with the flip up thing in the down position, the sippy cup does not spill. It may dent, but it doesn't break, and it will not spill. The flip up thing has exactly the right amount of friction to hold in its various orientations without being annoyingly hard to move.

The sippy cup fits into most cupholders.

The handle on the sippy cup is sturdy and robust and far enough from the cup body to accommodate big hands wearing gloves. Leaving the bottom part of the handle open was a wise choice, for larger-handed people can still use the cup. Closed handles sometimes squish people's fingers if the people have big hands or puffy gloves. There is a trade-off on structural soundness, but I have not had problems with the sturdiness of the bubba mug handle.

The interior of the sippy cup is big enough to get your hand in there to wash it, unless you have great big meaty paws. But in that case, a sponge on a stick would have no trouble.

Brushed stainless steel outer surface looks nice and wear is not terribly noticeable.

This is a quality product. If you are looking for an adult sippy cup for your hot beverages, you could do a lot worse. I've been using this damn thing for two years on a daily basis for my coffee and I feel pretty confident at this juncture in stating that it's a very well-designed sippy cup that meets my sippy cup needs effectively.
