Don't wrestle with pigs

I really should restrain myself wrt the internet sometimes. A poster was "What is the deal with horse girls?" And yeah, that's lighting a fire in dry, windy conditions. Maybe not the best way to do your ask, y'know?

Another poster came along and dumped gasoline on the fire with "I think they are just intimidated by masculinity."



So, of course I had to come along with my leaf blower and aim it at the fire because it's NOT ENOUGH to have a petroleum-assisted fire. What this fire needs is MOAR AIR to step it up to a conflagration.

I wrote... I like men just fine but I never wanted to marry one and still don't. Of the things men had on offer, the thing that I wanted was... abundant and low-value.

Let's try an analogy. Why buy the cow if endless free-range cows are everywhere, trying all the time to chat you up and hand you free glasses of variably-enjoyable milk? (Caveat emptor on the enjoyability of the milk.)

I don't want to live with a cow. I don't need or want a cow in my house full-time. I don't need or want the income that a cow generates. I don't want to raise up little cows.

I like the occasional glass of milk, sure, but I don't want the hassle and responsibility and day-after-day drag that comes with having and caring for a cow, long-term. They take a lot of attention and they moo annoyingly when their needs are not met. So, I like cows OK, but I don't like cows that much.

I do like horses that much.
