This early-summer, I made the life-altering and possibly stupid decision to DLB clinic every other weekend for four goes... starting this Sunday May 1.
(Pause for lexience to perform the obligatory Oh no you didn't with exaggerated glottal stop in the didn't portion for comedic effect.)
Given my previous experiences on the DLB front, which have all been me basically spending perfectly good money to discover that any perception on my part of progress or success has been entirely due to legend in my own mind wishful thinking and that, in fact, I suck just as much as I ever did... you may be asking yourself why on earth I'd do such a ducking fumb thing.
It will be different this time, you betcha. Different.
Horse is looking downright chunky. CHONK. HIM CHONK. Instead of leaving him in big pasture where he wanders incessantly looking for the perfect blade of fresh green grass... I moved him proactively to the playpen (which I made for him last year) and started feeding him absolutely lovely second cut hay plus 2-a-day chows so that he didn't drop ANY weight in shed-out/grass-search season and in fact put on weight instead.

He is standing weird and he has his eye shut. He is not camped out behind or eyeless in real life. But chonk.
(from the peanut gallery: That is not chonk. I see no chonk.)
How about from this angle?

Well, okay, he's an Arab. He's never going to be QH chonk. He's not made that way. But for him, he's pretty chonk.
I have been riding him six days a week so that he has a modicum of fitness. He's not super fit, but he's way better than pasture puff, and we're working on it, every day. So, hopefully, this will help.
I have been working on my shit, though how useful this is when it's by myself without any real feedback... bootstrap levitation is a very real hell, I gotta say.
And since we're doing like, four efforts, one every two weeks, we can GO HOME and WORK ON OUR SHIT and then GET MORE FEEDBACK FASTER and this will work better? Fuck if I know. I am hopeful, though.
Gonna kick the football for real this time. FOR REAL.
