which_chickDay 3: Jaice, Kenzi, Olivia, Waylie, Trys. Everybody on proper animal. Thunderstorms before, but they stopped before we went riding, so yay. My horse is not speaking to me -- canters nastily away from me -- because she does not want to go conditioning in this heat.
Today's topic was (as discussed) Water and Your Horse. I remembered most of the points but was tired (from mowing at work) and probably could have done better. Kids practiced leading the group during cool-down. That went pretty well.
We need about a week at this stress level of riding before we increase intensity. Also, need to generate a schedule that allows for rest days for the horses because we don't want to overtrain anyone.
This is easier than last year because I don't have any kids who refuse to trot. All the kids will trot.
I don't remember being this tired last year. I am sofa king tired and it's only day 3.
