So. I promised track pictures to compensate for my pitiful pace over the Sunday trek. Here are the pictures.

What critters are these? If it helps, I am in the woods of south-central Pennsylvania, up against a huge chunk of state forest and it's late January.

Clearer picture of "track 3" critter's tracks, in case you didn't get that one:

Oh, and in case anyone wants to see, this is the hill I walk up 3x a week:

(Yes, we have other critters. This is just what I could get good track pictures of, today. We have a huge damn amount of Critter #3, or else they run races or something.)

#3 is a wild turkey, #4 is a deer (probably a white-tail, given your location). #2 is probably a squirrel, but could also be a rabbit. I can't see the back feet clearly enough to tell, and rabbits are more likely to drag their hind feet a little, which would account for the two long marks in-between the feet foursomes. #1 is too dark (or too indistinct) to tell. You should take a better one tomorrow!

If I had scale in there you would be able to tell for sure that it's a squirrel and not a rabbit. Rabbit feet are larger than squirrels. Also, was heading directly for a tree. :) I'm not dead sure what #1 is, but my best guess would be opossum -- the sine curve suggests the naked tail of an opossum.
