It rained on the drive out today for the law-office moving but settled into a fine mist for the actual moving part. I felt mostly useless in the world of moving because Roy and Joe, being the guys, did all the heavy lifting. I hate feeling like that.

We went out for Thai afterwards, and took it home to Stacey and the babies. I had lemongrass chicken with noodles which was very good. I'd have liked it a little hotter (picante, not caliente) but not enough to whine overly. We also got a ginger chicken-and-veggie dish that was quite tasty.

It was a very King Lear get-together. Roy and I made some plans and I had a not-horrible idea. I'll pimp it to Joe on Monday in email, with some actual figures to back it up.

I also read Where the Wild Things Are to my nephew Duncan, three times. It'd be great if, like Max in the book, I could say "Be Still" and all the wild things around me would shut up. I expect that many of the readers of Where the Wild Things Are feel that way. Probably also my life needs more rumpus activity. The book has three pages of rumpus activity, which proportionally, seems like a lot. I bet I'm not getting enough. There's probably an RDA somewhere. Also, Duncan is quite taken with the page where Max (in his wild thing suit) is shown chasing the family dog with a fork. I'm not sure what is up with that, but he really likes that illustration. I think perhaps Cricket (their dog) should be on guard...

It started raining again for the drive home, which went wetly and uneventfully. Hopefully the weather tomorrow won't suck so badly. I've an early day of it to go to the opera (Il Puritani, I believe) and some bistro food place with Mom.
