I played with the yard today, which is I guess a good thing. The red raspberries are sending out wave after wave of advance troops into the grass but I'm going to mow them down this weekend. The asparagus did surprisingly well for me, as I have seven wee asparagus shoots coming up. (I didn't think any of them made it through the winter but apparently I was wrong.) I also have some kind of weed with big huge honking roots in the garden -- I dug a lot of those out, but they were well entrenched and I'm not sure how successful I was. As usual, the mint has invaded most everything and clearly needs the decimation of a mojito festival to get it back into some sort of order. Oh, and it looks like I'll actually have poppies this year, finally.

(It's also ANZAC day, which is not my country's holiday but an important one anyway.)

Mmmm... asparagus.

I loves me some green vegetables. Especially steamed. And perhaps with butter. Yum.
