I've been spending more than the usual amount of time perusing Craigslist entries for boats. This is because I have too much money and would like to get rid of some in a hurry -- and I already have horses. Boats seemed like the next-best-thing, though since I already have a lake, I'll not be spending money on getting the water to put the boat on. I already have the water part.

One of the places I check is Baltimores's craigslist. Today it was more amusing than usual...

Entry the first:

Apparently it's been raining rather a lot in Baltimore. The rain has not dampened their senses of humor down in Baltimore, witnesseth Entry the Second:

If you are looking "to get rid of some" of you rmoney you can just throw it my way. Consider it investing in my future.

No. Throwing money at people does not help the people to whom the money is thrown.

Financial aid of that sort encourages the recipient to adapt a standard of living that he or she cannot actually afford. It discourages him or her from living within his or her means. It erodes the value he or she attaches to money because things that come unearned cannot possibly be worth much.

Generally speaking, I'm not in favor of handing out money to people and certainly not to people I like.
