May. 12th, 2006 06:10 pmAges ago, and I mean a timeframe of years, my cousin Aaron went around on the internet being OWA (Stands for one winged angel -- I had to ask. Yeah, he's a bit of a geeky dork. No surprise there, he's related to me.) which I find out at this late date, lo these many moons later, refers to Sephiroth, apparently a character in a video game called Final Fantasy N where N is some positive integer expressed in roman numerals. (I'm not at all sure what's so final about it. It's not very fucking final to me if they keep having them. I mean, the whole thing about final is that things are supposed to STOP after you get to final. Final is the last one. Thinking that you can keep making them by adding roman numerals after the title is a pretty obvious cheat, in my book. I don't think they're fooling anyone. I also don't think that they can score angst points off of it being final after Final Fantasy III or so. People should have started to catch on by then, even video gamers.) Anyway. My question is this: What the fuck is a one-winged angel? Does it fly in a helicopter circle like a maple samara does? Is it like a hang glider? Please. 'Splain. If you've got 'em, pictures might help.

Date: 2006-05-12 10:51 pm (UTC)At the end of Final Fantasy VII, Sephiroth is shown with one black wing on his right side. So he ends up being called One Winged Angel...but it's still just the name of a song ;)

Date: 2006-05-16 01:10 pm (UTC)There are always several Sephiroths hanging around Otakon. My elder spawn's character in her writings is Sephirosu.
Interestingly, there *are* one winged Angels in Xenogears.
But my family won't let me play that anymore. Something about obsessions and stuff.
