It snowed about 4" of fluffy last night. We took the boys out for a spin in the snow anyway. Lots of walking, work on 2pt for the riders, plus some lateral work in the walk. Both Tin and Bird did leg yields. Bird also did 3-track shoulder-in (easy to check with the footprints in the snow and we're in a hayfield so there is a lot of fresh snow to work with). I also tried haunches-in, but for that his tracks are a shifty three-two-three wobble which tells me he's having trouble maintaining a secure position. This is not a problem that he has with shoulder-in, so it's probably a strength/flexibility issue. We'll keep plugging away at it. Gotta walk before we can run. It was not a total loss and we got some utility out of the stupid snow, so yay.

I was (a little light reading) checking out the Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Project for Fulton County. It (and all the other reports for the other counties in PA) can be found here if you want to read several hundred pages of Stuff In Your County (or mine). I'm located at the far end of the Sideling Hill Creek (N) watershed (page 35 of 273, the dark forest green color in the upper left hand side of the graphic).
