Aug. 9th, 2012 07:11 amJaicey and Kenzi last night for conditioning. We worked on "your horse's trot has more than one speed" skills. That went surprisingly well. Also, had small amount of canter practice up hill (Charisma does not canter for Jaicey, we're working on it. Nasty, lazy mare.) which the children enjoyed.
We handed out entry forms to the kidlets last night so hopefully they will get 'em filled in and bring them back today. (The grown-ups don't take as long because they do not need parent signatures.) Deadline for that is August 20 and I have to get the forms in to the extension office to have them signed before we mail them off. Hopefully we will not need to overnight them this year.
Taku needs a height certificate and so does Saffron. Nick, Charisma, Raimah, Mariah, Thyme, and Ceres already have 'em. I am not sure how on earth we are going to be able to get all the horses up there. Six is a *full* trailer load. We don't have a second trailer. Last year we borrowed another trailer/truck and hauled (six on ours, four on borrowed trailer) up that way, but it was a significant amount of work.
At the current time, we have Cass, Olivia, Kenzi, Jaicey for the children. Me, La, Trys, Matt for the adults. Liss, Dee and Lynn want to ride sweep. The number of people who want to come is exceeding our trailer capacity. *sigh*
