Sep. 11th, 2009 07:14 pmI love being right. I love it more than chocolate. And today, I got to be right again. (It happens a lot, really. I don't get tired of being right, either.) Go me! I filled the rest of the day's cracks with drywall tape and paste. It was not interesting as much as it was soothing. (Yes, I find drywall finishing soothing. Sue me.)
In other news, the local grocery had pork loins @ $0.99/lb, which is a hell of a deal on pork loin. I bought two because two was the allowable limit per purchaser. I've got the loins cut up and bagged and labled and frozen except for the last really pretty hunk that I'm saving to do something nice with. Something curry. I could, yes, again make vindaloo #3, but we've all had that like a gazillion times (because it's crazy tasty) and I want something different now. Not that vindaloo #3 isn't good. It is. I just want some changeup.
Maybe I could pretend this pork loin, it is chicken. (There are a lot more recipes for chicken curry than there are for pork. Something to do with the availability of piggies in India, I expect.) It's white like chicken, anyway. I'll have to find something in The Curry Book that suits... I'm planning on feeding Trys's pony lady this weekend anyway -- I promised her curry if she came visiting and she is supposed to be coming visiting. (If Trys were more organized, I'd have an arrival time and stuff, but she isn't and I don't. *sigh*) I am going to make the one with cabbage in it b/c have cabbage, have red peppers. However, would like something else, too. With meat. The opportunity cost of pork loin usually means vindaloo #3 b/c it's too expensive to fuck up with a recipe that goes tits-up on me. However, this is ninety-nine cent a pound pork loin, right, so I should be allowed to experiment with it. Because it's cheap. I'll see what the chicken recipes have to offer me. Possibly more later.
