(no subject)

Sometimes, when I get new music, I get stuck on one song and cannot bring myself to not-listen-to-it for long enough listen to the rest of the CD. When that happens, I've run into a heroin song and there isn't much to be done about it except to listen to the song in question enough times to wear the shiny off, whereupon I can then go listen to the rest of the CD (and may even like some of it and everything). Thing is, there is no progress until I've given the heroin song its due.

The current heroin song is in Finnish, for fuck's sake. Finnish. I don't speak word one of Finnish.

The language of heroin songs does not appear to matter. Previous heroin songs have been in Romanian, Iroquois, Hawaiian, German, Japanese, Swedish... and there are rather a lot of them in English, too. I just don't mention that I had to listen to Sean Paul's Like Glue about fifty times before I could listen to the rest of the CD because you people might think I was weird or something.
