It's a food web site with nice pictures of food porn, each with a short, kind of descriptive caption. If you click on a food porn that you want to know more about, it takes you to a web page or blog post about the food porn in question.
Tastespotting is an aggregator of interesting food stuff, much like Metafilter is an aggregator of just plain interesting stuff. It's built by regular people, not by some internet robot thing. Sometimes the food porn links aren't in English but a lot of them are, with free recipes and discussion and stuff. Take a look. (There's an archive at the bottom, so you can click and see older posts. Also, new stuff gets added every day to the main page, so if you don't see something you like, try again tomorrow.) Some days the web site is a little sluggish, but it usually manages to come up.
