Jul. 23rd, 2008 06:44 amI got the entry form for the state CTR in the mail yesterday. I totally have got to start putting some serious miles on the Callie horse. (She rides fine, walk, trot, canter. Alone or in groups, no worries. The "broke" part is done. All we need now is the conditioning part.)
It's also fair week. I haven't been up yet, but I did get a fair-style hot italian sausage sandwich. Last year they were five bucks, which I felt was a bit much, so I bought a packet of fifteen sausages at the grocery. That was eight dollars and twenty six cents. Price per sausage: $0.55. I also bought some green peppers and onions and bread. I don't think I spent more than about two bucks per sandwich. It is NOT HARD to make sausage sandwiches that taste just like the ones at the fair. It's dead easy. I also didn't pay four bucks for a memmonlade like they sell at the fair. A whole entire bag of lemons was four bucks. Since each lemon makes a memmonlade with sugar and water, I think I did better than retail there, too. I don't have to go to the fair to have fair food... well, maybe except for funnel cakes.
