May. 26th, 2008 07:15 amThe game Text Twirl on Facebook has a shitty-ass dictionary. It considers things that I'm damn sure are words as "Try Again" instead of "Good Job". The amount of pissing-me-off that this does is worthy of mention.
Text Twirl thinks that "snood" is not-a-word. Text Twirl thinks that "orc" is not-a-word. Bugger all. I've had real words that Text Twirl has not liked on multiple occasions and I am pissed about Text Twirl's clear and obvious lack of vocabulary. Whatever words Text Twirl thinks I should be able to make out of scrambled letters, there exist valid words from the letters that Text Twirl does not include in the point-scoring list. This is unacceptable.
In reality, the object of Text Twirl is not "Make all the words you can with the provided letters" (this being the object that they TELL you is the object of the game). The object of Text Twirl for realz is "Guess which words of all possible words we have included in the approved, point-scoring list of words made with the provided letters", a rather more difficult and annoying challenge.
