Jun. 5th, 2005 12:10 amAs advertised, I went on the Ride of Death with the Insane Red Horse. That went rather well, in that the IRH did not put me off at all and did not buck at all and did not run off with me. All of our excitement was contained and rotary, which is a lot better than having uncontained or linear excitement. It's not better than having NO excitement, but we're improving.
We had... cars, trucks, jeeps, one semi truck, an ATV, a motorcycle, three horse-drawn buggies, and a dually diesel with a flatbed trailer packed with haybales and people. Nick is not traffic safe, but she is now traffic-rideable for a properly-briefed, reasonably on-the-ball rider with a solid seat and good reaction times.
Nick and I also did poles and barrels at the fun show. She had never seen either of these patterns before, but she started anticipating them before we were done with the damn patterns. Smart horse, this is. Our times were hideous because we walked and trotted through the patterns, but we were on course and turned well and I was happy with that.
Anyway, I'm beat to shit. Night.
